Integrated Physical Therapy

Rehab that works with your care plan.

Hands-on, one-on-one physical therapy with Dr. Christie Smith, PT, DPT, KEOMPT, an orthopaedic manual therapist focused on sports rehab, post-op recovery, and return to performance.

One-on-one sessions. No double-booking. Coordinated with your surgeon.

The one-on-one difference

The whole session is yours.

At many clinics, a therapist runs three or four patients at once and hands you off to an aide. Here it is just you and your doctor of physical therapy, start to finish.

Truly one-on-one

Your therapist is with you for the whole session. No double-booking, no handing you to an aide between sets. The time you book is the time you get.

Hands-on every visit

Skilled manual therapy paired with active, sport-specific rehab. We treat the way you actually move, not a one-size-fits-all sheet of exercises.

One coordinated plan

Surgeon and physical therapist work from the same plan, so nothing falls through the cracks between the clinic, the operating room, and the gym floor.

Built around your goals

Return to a sport, a job, or simply pain-free daily life. Your program is built around your timeline and what you want to get back to.

Who it helps

Built for active people who want back in the game.

From the first weeks after surgery to the final push back to performance, physical therapy meets you where you are.

Post-operative recovery

Structured rehabilitation after ACL, meniscus, rotator cuff, shoulder, and hand procedures, coordinated with the surgeon who did the work.

Sports and overuse injuries

Tendon, ligament, and muscle issues from training and play. We rebuild strength, control, and confidence so you can get back to your sport.

Nagging joint and back pain

Knee, shoulder, hip, neck, and low-back pain that has not settled with rest. Hands-on manual therapy and targeted loading to calm it down and build it back.

Return to performance

The final stretch from cleared to truly ready. Sport-specific testing and conditioning to close the gap before you go full speed.

The evaluation

We assess how you move, not just where it hurts.

Every plan starts with a focused musculoskeletal evaluation of your form and function. We look past the painful spot to the core drivers behind it, the restrictions, weak links, and faulty mechanics that cause pain, limit function, and cap your athletic potential.

Then we treat the cause and retrain the pattern, so relief lasts. Injury prevention is not a separate program here. It is the natural result of moving better: the same work that resolves today’s problem raises your ceiling for sport, for training, and for life.

Form and movement

How you actually move under load, not just a static exam on a table.

Function and capacity

What your joints and tissues tolerate today, and where they fall short.

The core drivers

The why behind the pain: the restrictions, weak links, and faulty mechanics causing it.

Your athletic ceiling

The limitations capping your next level of play, and a plan to raise it for sport and for life.

Manual therapy method

The Kaltenborn-Evjenth approach (KEOMT)

Dr. Christie Smith practices in the Kaltenborn-Evjenth Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (KEOMT) tradition, an internationally recognized system built on a thorough biomechanical evaluation of how your joints, nerves, and muscles work together.

Rather than chase the sore spot, the approach pinpoints the specific restriction or movement fault driving it, treats it with precise, graded hands-on technique, and pairs that with targeted exercise so the change holds. Her KEOMPT certification reflects advanced training in this method, offered at only a handful of programs in the United States.

  • A comprehensive biomechanical exam of your joints, nerves, and muscles
  • Precise, graded hands-on joint mobilization and soft-tissue technique
  • Targeted exercise that retrains the movement, so the gains hold
  • KEOMPT certification, a rigorous and rare manual-therapy credential

One coordinated plan

Surgeon and therapist, working from the same plan.

The fastest way back to what you love is a surgeon and a therapist in sync. At JOI, your rehabilitation is connected to the rest of your care from day one.

  1. 01

    Shared evaluation

Your therapy starts from the same diagnosis and imaging your surgeon used. Dr. Christie Smith builds your plan directly off your care plan, not a generic protocol.

  2. 02

    Coordinated through your procedure

When biologics, StemWave shockwave, or surgery are part of the plan, rehab is timed around them so your tissue is protected and your progress is steady.

  3. 03

    Hands-on progression

Each session blends manual therapy with active loading, advancing as you do. Your surgeon stays in the loop, so milestones are reviewed together.

  4. 04

    Return to what you love

Sport-specific conditioning and testing carry you from early recovery to full return, with a clear picture of where you stand at every step.
