Regenerative Orthopaedics
Get back to what you love. Without rushing to surgery.
Biologic injections (PRP, BMAC, and Lipogems) concentrate tissue taken from your own body and place it into the joint, tendon, or soft tissue under image guidance. Surgeon-led, transparent, and explained honestly before you decide.
Surgery is the last option, not the default.
You want to move without pain. You do not want to lose months to an operating room.
A nagging knee, a stubborn shoulder, an Achilles or elbow that just will not settle down. You have probably been told to rest, take anti-inflammatories, and wait. When that stops working, the next conversation is often surgery. For many active adults, there is a step in between worth exploring first.
Biologic injections concentrate the healing components already in your blood and bone marrow, then deliver them precisely to the injured tissue. The goal is simple. Calm the pain, support the body’s own repair process, and help you get back to training, working, and living.
This is care for people who refuse to quietly accept “just live with it,” and who want an honest, surgeon-led answer about whether a less invasive option makes sense for them.
Surgery is the last option, not the default.
We start with the least invasive path that can actually work for your injury, and we are honest when that path is something other than a biologic.
Your own cells, put to work
Your own tissue, concentrated and placed with precision.
PRP, BMAC, and Lipogems all start with tissue from your own body, concentrated and placed where the injury lives. The aim is to support repair and calm pain, so you can get back to moving on your terms.
PRP, BMAC, and Lipogems
Different biologics suit different injuries. Dr. Smith helps you understand which one fits your situation, or whether a biologic is the right move at all.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
We draw a small sample of your blood and spin it down to concentrate the platelets, the cells packed with the growth factors your body uses to repair tissue. That concentrate is then injected into the injured area.
Often considered for: Tendon issues (tennis elbow, patellar and Achilles tendon problems), mild to moderate joint arthritis, and certain ligament strains.
Am I a Candidate?BMAC (Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate)
We take a small amount of bone marrow, typically from the pelvis, and concentrate the cells it contains. That concentrate is delivered to the target area, often a joint or a more advanced area of wear.
Often considered for: Moderate joint arthritis and certain cartilage or bone-related concerns where a richer cell source may be preferred.
Am I a Candidate?Lipogems (Microfragmented Fat)
We collect a small sample of your own fat tissue and gently process it into a cushioning, supportive form. It is then placed where structural support is needed.
Often considered for: Arthritic joints and soft-tissue areas that may benefit from added cushioning and support.
Am I a Candidate?A surgeon who knows when you need a procedure, and when you do not.
Double board-certified surgeon
Dr. Justin T. Smith performs your evaluation and your injection personally. You are not handed off.
Image-guided precision
In-office SMART-C mini C-arm fluoroscopy and a careful clinical exam help place biologics accurately at the source of the problem.
An honest recommendation
If a biologic is not likely to help you, we will tell you. Sometimes the right answer is PT, sometimes a different injection, sometimes surgery.
Integrated recovery
Pair your treatment with in-house orthopaedic physical therapy from Dr. Christie Smith, PT, DPT, to protect and build on your results.
What biologics can and cannot do.
We believe in honest, educational care, not hype. Biologic injections are a tool to support your body's healing and reduce pain. They are not a guaranteed cure, and they cannot reverse every injury or rebuild a joint that is past the point of repair.
Results vary from person to person
Your diagnosis, the severity of your injury, your age, and your overall health all influence the outcome.
Biologics are not right for every problem
Some injuries respond better to physical therapy, bracing, other injections, or surgery. The honest evaluation comes first.
This is not a substitute for a diagnosis
A precise diagnosis from a surgeon comes before any recommendation. Treatment follows the diagnosis, not the other way around.
Recovery is a process
Biologics work with your body over time. Many patients pair treatment with a guided rehab plan to support the result.
